Passengers flying with Air Canada are permitted to bring:

Carry-on Baggage

When travelling with Air Canada, regardless of your destination, you are permitted to bring one standard item and one personal item on board.

The standard carry-on item must not exceed 10 kg (22 lbs) in weight, with maximum dimensions of 23 x 40 x 55 cm (9 x 15.5 x 21.5 in). The personal item—such as a laptop bag, briefcase, or small backpack—must not exceed 16 x 33 x 43 cm (6 x 13 x 17 in).

Additional items such as a diaper bag, small purse (not exceeding 25 x 30 x 14 cm / 10 x 12 x 5.5 in), or a pushchair are also allowed. Passengers travelling with an infant not occupying their own seat may carry one extra standard carry-on item for the infant’s belongings.

If you are travelling with an infant under two years of age seated on your lap, you may bring an additional standard cabin bag for the child’s essentials.

Musical instruments can be brought on board as part of your standard carry-on allowance, provided they fit within the size restrictions and can be stored in the overhead locker or under the seat in front. If the instrument exceeds these limits, you may purchase a separate seat for it at a 50% discount on the published fare. Instruments occupying a seat must not exceed 162.5 cm (64 in) in length or 36 kg (80 lbs) in weight.
