Reporting a Lost Item
• Online: Submit a report through Air Canada’s Lost & Found service on their
official website. You’ll need to provide details such as your flight number,
seat number, and a description of the lost item.
• By Phone: You may also contact Air Canada’s Lost & Found department directly
by phone to report a missing item.
What Happens Next
After your report is submitted, Air Canada will begin searching for your item.
If it is located, the airline will arrange for its return.
You will receive a confirmation email containing a report number for tracking
and follow-up purposes.
Timeframe for Retention
Air Canada typically holds lost items for up to 90 days. After this period,
unclaimed items are disposed of.
Items Lost Onboard
If the item was lost on an aircraft, contact Air Canada’s Lost & Found promptly.
Items left on board may be held temporarily before being transferred to a
central lost property facility.
Liability Notice
Air Canada will make every reasonable effort to assist in locating your
belongings, but is not liable for any lost property. Prompt reporting increases
the chances of recovery.
Helpful Tip
If your item has a tracking device (e.g. Apple AirTag), you can share the
tracking data with Air Canada to aid the search.
For the best chance of recovering your lost item, act quickly and contact Air
Canada or the relevant airport’s Lost & Found department without delay.
