Aircalin provides an unaccompanied minor service for children travelling between
Australia and international destinations operated via Nouméa.
Eligibility
The service applies to children aged 5 to 11 years travelling without a parent
or legal guardian. Passengers aged 12 to 17 may request assistance services on a
voluntary basis depending on booking requirements.
Booking Requirement
Unaccompanied minor arrangements must be confirmed prior to departure from
Australian Airports. Advance reservation enables coordination between check-in
staff, cabin crew, and arrival airport personnel.
Airport Handling
At departure airports such as Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, minors are
assisted through check-in, security clearance, boarding, and aircraft handover
procedures. Assigned staff ensure custody transfer to cabin crew before
departure.
Inflight Supervision
Cabin crew monitor unaccompanied minors throughout the flight, providing
assistance during meal service, seat allocation, and transit procedures through
Nouméa connections when applicable.
Arrival Procedures
Upon arrival in New Caledonia or onward destinations, minors are released only
to authorised guardians after identity verification and documentation checks.
Restrictions
Certain connections and overnight transfers may not permit unaccompanied minor
travel depending on routing complexity and operational constraints on Aircalin
services operating from Australia.
