Passengers travelling on China Eastern Airlines flights departing from Australian Airports are permitted to carry baggage according to the fare purchased and the destination served.

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers travelling in Economy Class may bring one cabin bag weighing up to 8 kg. Business Class passengers may carry two cabin bags, each weighing up to 8 kg.

Each cabin bag must not exceed 55 cm × 40 cm × 20 cm.

One additional personal item, including a handbag, laptop bag or small backpack, may also be carried into the cabin provided it fits beneath the seat in front.

All carry-on baggage departing from Australian Airports is subject to aviation security screening. Items exceeding permitted size or weight limits must be checked before boarding.

Checked Baggage Allowance

China Eastern Airlines applies the piece concept on routes between Australia and China. The allowance shown on the ticket remains the applicable entitlement.

For many Australia–China services, the standard allowance is:

• Economy Class: 2 pieces, each up to 23 kg
• Business Class: 2 pieces, each up to 32 kg

Each checked bag must not exceed 158 cm in combined length, width and height.

Individual bags weighing more than 32 kg are not accepted as checked baggage and must be repacked before acceptance.

Extra Baggage

Passengers may purchase additional baggage before departure through China Eastern Airlines sales channels or during airport check-in, subject to availability.

Charges apply when the permitted number of bags, weight allowance or size limit is exceeded.

Oversized sporting equipment, musical instruments and other special baggage may require advance notification before departure from Australian Airports. Acceptance remains subject to aircraft loading limitations and operational requirements.
