China Eastern Airlines provides an Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service for eligible children travelling alone on selected international routes, including services departing from Australian Airports.

Eligibility

The service is available for children within the airline's approved age range travelling without a parent, legal guardian or eligible accompanying adult. Age requirements vary according to the itinerary and destination.

Advance Booking

Requests for Unaccompanied Minor service must be arranged before travel. Confirmation is subject to seat availability and operational acceptance.

Airport Check-in

The parent or guardian must accompany the child to the departure airport, complete all required documentation and remain at the airport until the aircraft has departed.

Escort Service

Airline staff supervise the child throughout the airport process, including check-in, boarding, in-flight care and arrival procedures. Where connections are accepted under the programme, assistance is provided during the transfer between flights.

Arrival Procedures

The receiving parent or authorised guardian must present valid identification before the child is released by airline staff at the destination airport. The authorised collecting person must match the details recorded on the travel documentation.

Travel Requirements

Children travelling alone must carry a valid passport, visa where required and all destination entry documents. Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring immigration and health requirements have been satisfied before departure from Australian Airports.

Service Availability
