If you’ve lost an item while traveling with Emirates at an Australian airport,
the process for recovery depends on where the item was misplaced — on board the
aircraft, at the gate, or inside the terminal.
Onboard or at the gate: If the item was left on the plane or during
boarding/disembarkation, contact Emirates’ baggage services or the ground
handling agent at the respective airport. Emirates staff typically transfer lost
items to the airport's Lost & Found department within a few hours.
Inside the terminal: Items lost within the airport (security, lounges, or
general areas) are handled directly by the airport’s Lost & Found office. Each
airport has its own procedure and contact point. For example:
Sydney Airport (SYD): Visit the Lost Property counter in Terminal 1 or
submit an online form.
Melbourne Airport (MEL): Report items through the Lost Property service
at Terminal 2.
What to do: Provide flight details, seat number, description of the item, and
contact information. Recovery times vary, and storage fees may apply depending
on the airport.
For the fastest assistance, act promptly and check both Emirates and the
airport’s official channels.
