Etihad Airways provides an Unaccompanied Minor service for children travelling
alone on eligible international routes including flights departing from
Australian Airports.
Eligible Age Categories
• Children aged 5 to 11 travelling alone must use the Unaccompanied Minor
service
• Passengers aged 12 to 17 may request the service optionally
• Children under 5 years are not accepted for solo travel
Booking Requirements
Unaccompanied Minor reservations for departures from Australian Airports must be
arranged in advance through Etihad Airways reservations or authorised ticketing
channels.
Parents or guardians must complete required documentation before airport
check-in.
Airport Check-in Procedures
The accompanying adult must remain at the Australian Airport until the Etihad
Airways flight has departed.
Required documents include:
• Child passport
• Visa documentation
• Identification of receiving guardian
• Contact information
• Completed airline forms
Escort and Supervision
Etihad Airways staff supervise unaccompanied minors during check-in, boarding,
transit procedures, and arrival handover processes.
Children are escorted between connecting flights where applicable under approved
itineraries.
Onboard Service
Cabin crew monitor unaccompanied minors throughout the flight and provide
assistance with meals, seating, and onboard procedures.
Priority boarding may be arranged to assist children before general passenger
boarding commences.
Arrival Procedures

identification before custody transfer is completed by Etihad Airways ground
