Korean Air offers a dedicated Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service to ensure the safety and comfort of children traveling alone on international flights from Australian airports.

Eligibility

Mandatory UM Service: Children aged 5 to 11 years traveling alone on international flights must use the UM service.

Optional UM Service: Adolescents aged 12 to 16 years may choose to use the UM service for added assistance.

Booking Requirements

The UM service must be requested at least 24 hours before departure.

Tickets for unaccompanied minors should be booked through Korean Air's reservation center.

Guardians must provide detailed information about the adults responsible for drop-off and pick-up at the departure and arrival airports.

Service Details

Upon check-in, a designated staff member will assist the child through security and to the boarding gate.

During the flight, cabin crew will monitor and care for the unaccompanied minor.

Upon arrival, staff will accompany the child through immigration and baggage claim, ensuring a safe handover to the designated guardian.

Fees

The UM service incurs an additional fee, which varies based on the child's age and flight route.

Additional Notes

The UM service is only available on flights operated by Korean Air and is not applicable for codeshare or interline flights.

Children traveling with an adult in a different cabin class are required to use the UM service.
