United Airlines » Check-in Information
Passengers flying with United Airlines from Australian airports (including
Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane) have several convenient check-in options. To
ensure a smooth journey, it is recommended to arrive at the airport at least 3
hours prior to departure for international flights.
Online and Mobile Check-in
United Airlines allows passengers to check in online or via the United mobile
app up to 24 hours before departure. You can select seats, add baggage, and
access your boarding pass digitally. This is ideal for saving time at the
airport.
Airport Check-in Counters
If you prefer to check in at the airport, United’s staffed counters open 3 hours
before scheduled departure and close 1 hour before the flight. It is recommended
to complete check-in and baggage drop as early as possible to avoid delays,
especially during busy periods.
Self-Service Kiosks
Some major Australian airports may offer self-service kiosks for check-in and
bag tag printing. These are useful for passengers who have already checked in
online but need to drop off luggage.
Required Documents
Ensure you have a valid passport, visa (if applicable), and any necessary travel
documents such as proof of COVID-19 vaccination or entry permits, depending on
destination requirements.
Baggage Drop and Security
After check-in, proceed to the baggage drop counter (if applicable), then pass
through security and immigration. Boarding typically begins 45 minutes before
departure.
