Passengers travelling with Vietnam Airlines from Australian Airports are
permitted to carry the following baggage allowances based on cabin class and
fare conditions.
Carry-on Baggage
Passengers departing from Australian Airports in Economy Class may carry one
cabin bag with a maximum weight of 12 kg combined with one personal item. Cabin
baggage dimensions must not exceed 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm.
Premium Economy Class passengers may carry one cabin bag and one accessory item
within the same combined weight restriction.
Business Class passengers may carry two cabin bags with a total combined weight
not exceeding 18 kg, in addition to one personal item such as a handbag, laptop
case, or small backpack.
Carry-on baggage departing from Australian Airports must comply with aviation
security screening requirements. Liquids, aerosols, and gels must remain within
permitted limits established by Australian aviation authorities.
Checked Baggage Allowance
Checked baggage allowances for Vietnam Airlines flights departing from
Australian Airports vary according to cabin class and fare category.
• Economy Class: 1 piece up to 23 kg
• Premium Economy Class: 2 pieces up to 23 kg each
• Business Class: 2 pieces up to 32 kg each
Each checked baggage item must not exceed 158 cm in total linear dimensions.
Individual baggage items above 32 kg are not accepted for carriage from
Australian Airports unless repacked into smaller units.
Extra Baggage
Additional baggage may be purchased online before departure or through Vietnam
Airlines airport offices at Australian Airports.
Excess baggage charges apply when weight, dimensions, or quantity exceed the
ticketed allowance. Charges differ according to destination and route structure.
Sporting equipment, bicycles, golf bags, and musical instruments transported
from Australian Airports may require advance approval. Certain oversized items
are subject to special handling procedures and additional fees.
