Australian government regulations require airlines to disembark all passengers and their cabin luggage at the first port of call into Australia. If you are transiting Brisbane Airport from overseas you will be required to undergo the regular passenger screening process, including potential random selection for body scanning, prior to entering the transit lounge. This process is similar to that experienced at your port of departure.

There are airport transit lounge facilities that allow ‘transit without a visa’ TWOV eligible passengers to connect to their onwards flight.

There are two terminals at Brisbane Airport, the Domestic Terminal and the International Terminal. The terminals are 4 kilometres apart, and the travel time between the terminals is approximately 10 minutes using the free transfer bus service. Hence, proper time management and travel documents is crucial to ensure smooth transfer.

Travellers have the choice of travelling by:

◦ Free complimentary Terminal transfer bus
◦ Airtrain
◦ Taxi

All three options cater to passengers with special needs.

Transport between the terminals will be available on the regular Skygate loop bus services that will operate as per normal schedule, servicing Domestic, International and Skygate.

Circumstances at airports change from time to time and the above information is only intended as a guide. Airport specific websites may provide more up to date and further information that may also assist, such as airport operating hours and accommodation options.
