Broken Hill Airport (IATA: BHQ, ICAO: YBHI) is an airport located 2.5 nautical
miles (4.6 km; 2.9 mi) southeast of Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia.
The airport currently is used as a base of operations for the Royal Flying
Doctor Service of Australia South-Eastern section thus making it a very
important hub for this service. It is also used extensively by the mining
industry.
The airport is located at an elevation of 959 ft (292 m) above sea level. It has
two runways: 05/23, an asphalt runway 2,515 m (8,251 ft) long, and 14/32, a
grass runway 1,000 m (3,281 ft) long.
