Passengers travelling with China Airlines from Australian Airports are permitted to carry the following:

Carry-on Baggage

Each passenger departing from Australian Airports in Economy Class or Premium Economy Class may bring one cabin bag with a maximum weight of 7 kg (15 lbs). Business Class and Premium Business Class passengers may carry two cabin bags within the same weight allowance per piece.

Cabin baggage dimensions must not exceed 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm, including wheels and handles. Bags must fit in overhead compartments or beneath the seat in front.

One additional personal item such as a handbag, laptop bag, duty-free shopping bag, or small backpack is permitted onboard.

All cabin baggage departing from Australian Airports is subject to aviation security screening. Oversized or overweight items must be checked into the aircraft hold before boarding.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage policies for China Airlines flights from Australian Airports depend on route structure and booking class.

For most international routes using the piece system:

• Economy Class: 1 or 2 pieces up to 23 kg each
• Premium Economy Class: 2 pieces up to 28 kg each
• Premium Business Class / Business Class: 2 pieces up to 32 kg each

Each checked bag must not exceed 158 cm in total dimensions.

For routes using the weight system, allowance is determined by total permitted weight stated on the ticket.

Extra Baggage

Passengers departing from Australian Airports may purchase additional baggage allowance online, through ticket offices, or at airport counters. Prepaid excess baggage rates are lower than charges applied at the airport.

Oversized baggage, sports equipment, musical instruments, and special handling items may require advance approval. Charges apply based on weight, dimensions, and destination.
