XiamenAir Lost & Found

Passengers travelling with XiamenAir who misplace personal belongings during flights or while moving through Australian Airports are required to report the incident through the appropriate handling channel based on where the item was lost. Recovery procedures differ depending on custody and location.

Items Left on Board the Aircraft

Belongings left inside the cabin on XiamenAir flights arriving into Australian Airports are collected after landing by cabin crew and handed to the airline’s appointed ground handling partner. Items are recorded, stored securely and processed for identification and retrieval.

Items Lost at the Airport

Items misplaced within terminals at Australian Airports, including check-in halls, security screening zones, immigration areas and boarding gates, are managed by the respective airport authority’s lost property unit. Passengers must contact the airport directly if the item was not confirmed to be left onboard the aircraft.

Baggage-Related Irregularities

Passengers arriving in Australia who experience delayed, missing or damaged checked baggage must report the issue before leaving the airport baggage claim area. A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) is issued to begin tracking through international baggage systems.

Reporting Process

Passengers are required to provide flight details, baggage tag numbers, contact information and a detailed description of the missing property. Additional identifying features may assist recovery.

Recovery and Storage

Recovered items are held for a limited period by either the airline’s handling agent or airport authority depending on location. Collection requires valid identification and proof of ownership. In some cases, delivery may be arranged subject to service availability and fees.

Passenger Advisory

Passengers travelling through Australian Airports are advised to retain valuables such as passports, electronics, cash, medication and jewellery in cabin baggage. Responsibility for unsecured items in airport or aircraft environments is governed by airline conditions of carriage and applicable international conventions.
