Check-in counters typically open 3 to 4 hours before the scheduled departure time and close 60 minutes prior to departure. You must check in and drop off checked baggage during this time window.

Online and Mobile Check-In

Passengers can check in online via the American Airlines website or mobile app 24 hours before departure. You can select seats, pay for bags, and obtain your boarding pass digitally.
