American Airlines, Inc. (AA) is a major U.S. airline based in Fort Worth, Texas,
within the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
Following its merger with US Airways, American Airlines became the world’s
largest airline by fleet size, revenue, scheduled passenger-kilometers flown,
and the number of destinations served.
A founding member of the Oneworld Alliance, launched in February 1999, American
Airlines also operates code-share flights with non-alliance partners such as
Alaska Airlines, Etihad Airways, and Hawaiian Airlines.
